Well, I thought it was a joke, but it isn't. Koei and Bandai Namco are teaming up to create Gundam Musou - a Dynasty Warriors-like Gundam game. The press release confirms it. Given Bamco's recent track record with Gundam games, maybe this will be a good thing, comparatively - Koei is doing the development, and Bandai Namco is publishing. The far future meets the far past. Very weird. This is pretty much assured a U.S. release.

- Sega announced that Virtua Fighter 5 will be coming to Xbox 360 in Autumn 2007, the game is no longer PS3 exclusive. The Xbox 360 port will be handled by AM2, the developer of the arcade version.

La Console Virtuelle de Nintendo n'est pas la seule à s'enrichir ! Sony met en place la seconde partie de son immense ludothèque PSone sur le PlayStation Store japonais. Au menu, une dizaine de jeux dont la majorité est inconnue du public Occidental, mais citons tout de même le Dino Crisis de Capcom, le Mr Driller de Bandai Namco et le Little Princess de Nippon Ichi Software. Ces jeux, qui ne coûtent toujours que 525 Yen, soit la bagatelle de 3€, seront en ligne dès demain, et ne sont fait pour le moment que pour être émulés sur PSP.

Forgot to mention this ages ago, but Radirgy may be coming to US shores, from O~3 Entertainment. Wal-Mart has it coming out on February 15 2007, which would probably make it the last Gamecube game ever in the west? Amazon says December 31 - others say never. Fingers crossed!

It's called Draglade, and the website comes complete with cheesy anime license-like intro music. Visually though...well see for yourself, eh? Planned for march 07, for the DS, published by Banpresto. I found this last week when browsing for something or other - a very nice database of arcade game reviews, with some unusual stuff. The reviews are usually from old magazines, which hightens the appeal even more. It's run by a guy named Arttu Ylärakkola, who likes cats. There's various other weirdness too, like clips from the Salamander anime, and Xexex soundtrack booklet, and tips for making a MAME cab. A very good site to bookmark and browse.

La rumeur enfle depuis ce matin : Tekken 6 pourrait également sortir sur Xbox 360. L'information provient d'un membre des forums du magazine IGN, la même personne qui avait annoncé en avant-première l'arrivée de Virtua Fighter 5 sur Xbox 360. Voilà pourquoi cette information jugée crédible a rapidement enflammé la toile. Selon la même source, le jeu de combat signé Namco sortirait d'abord sur PS3, puis sur la console de Microsoft durant l'année 2007. Il pourrait aussi bénéficier des avantages du service Xbox Live. Le clan Playstation serait-il sur le point de perdre une nouvelle exclusivité ?

Sega sur PS2

Même si la PS3 se trouve logiquement au coeur de l'actualité, la Playstation 2 n'a pas encore dit son dernier mot. C'est d'ailleurs l'avis de nombreux éditeurs comme Sega qui témoigne aujourd'hui son soutien au monolithe noir. Lors d'une entrevue avec nos confrères de BusinessWeek, Simon Jeffery de Sega a déclaré que la compagnie allait continuer de supporter la PS2 jusqu'à la fin de l'année 2008. Il précise que les jeux prévus seront essentiellement des petits prix ou encore des conversions. En revanche, il faut savoir que Sega a stoppé ses développements sur GameCube et Xbox.
