Yuki Enterprise, developer of the Samurai Shodown V and V Special games, has a couple of interesting recruitment ads on their homepage, which indicates that the company is working on a new game with 2D characters and 3D backgrounds. As an interesting aside, Iggy notes that when Yuki hired employees for the SS games, they did so on the SS webpage, which seems to indicate that at the very least, this game is not in the Samurai Shodown series.

Doujin shooter fans rejoice, Murasame has released a new game. hitogata happa is the name, and the demo is available for download at the bottom of the official page. The full game will be sold on CD Rom, presumably at the next comiket, for 1,000 yen (less than US $10).

Hamster announces four more classic titles for the PS2.

August 5, 2005 - Lost amongst the Namco Museums and the SEGA Ages games is a classics series from Japanese publisher Hamster. Called Oretachi Gesen Zoku, this series currently has six installments, each featuring one classic title in its original form. Hamster also bundles in a music CD, a special DVD, a guide book and a few other bonuses, helping to justify the 2000 yen purchase price.

The next four games in the series have been announced, and some of the titles should be recognizable even to gamers in America. This October, the series will expand to include Burger Time (1982), Terra Cresta (1985), Yie Ar Kung Fu (1985) and Super Volleyball (1989). The games are based off their original arcade counterparts and include the bonuses mentioned above.

It's doubtful that these types of single-title releases would ever make it through Sony Computer Entertainment America's inspection department, so purists will have to import.

Non, ce n'est pas officiel, mais comme Sammmy/Sega prépare son remplaçant, le AURORA, on peut légitimement penser qu'ils vont arreter de développer sur atomiswave. Reste à savoir si SNK continuera de développer sur atomiswave ce qui est assez peu probable, ou si ils passeront sur un autre hardware à déterminer... Actu arcade passionante à suivre donc.
J'attends la fin de l'am show pour faire un point complet sur l'état de l'arcade dans les news.

Par contre l'aurora donnera un bon truc?Je suis pas trés callé en spec,j'ai lu vite fait la fiche mais j'arrive pas à me faire une idée.

CPU : Hitachi SH-4 32-bit RISC CPU @ 300MHz

Le même processeur que l'atomiswave, mais cadencé à 300mhz au lieu de 200mhz. La carte graphique est aussi une power VR..
On dirait une atomiswave boostée..

Ce sont des spec tres faibles comparés aux spec des pcs actuels, mais c'est pour réduire les couts au maximum. Faut pas oublier que l'atomiswave est dans le créneaux des systemes d'arcade à bas couts et que l'aurora prend le relai. Et ça devrait suffire pour le type de jeu que devrait acceuillir l'aurora: baston, shoot...
