November 7, 2006 - Namco announced today that it's bringing the classic arcade games Mr. Do! and Mr. Do's castle to mobile. Developed originally by Aruze and published in American arcade by Universal, this pair of Mr. Do games are expected to launch on mobile in summer of 2007.
"Partnering with Aruze further expands our popular catalog of arcade classics, meeting the ever-increasing consumer demand for fun, casual content," says Kenji Hisatsune, president and CEO of Namco Networks. "Mr. Do! and other Aruze games were very popular in the 80s arcades and we believe this popularity will continue on the mobile platform."

C'est l'antique Xevious qui accueillera cette fois les joueurs lors du traditionnel chargement d'avant-partie dans Ridge Racer 7, titre de lancement de la PlayStation 3. Un épisode plus que jamais placé sous le signe du multi, comme tendent à nous le rappeler ces nouvelles images diffusées par Namco, le mode en ligne pouvant accueillir jusqu'à 14 joueurs, comme sur Xbox 360. On retrouvera naturellement les options classiques pour fixer le nombre de participants, le type de véhicules utilisé, les améliorations permises (comme le nombre de nitros), ainsi qu'une fonction de chat textuel qui à la manière de Phantasy Star Online traduit automatiquement un certain nombre de phrases-type dans la langue spécifiée par l'utilisateur. Ridge Racer 7 sort le 11 novembre au Japon, le 17 aux Etats-Unis, et en mars chez nous.

Hyde Park Entertainment, and will focus on Chun Li. No info on the anime and the game (which will probably be something stupid or offensive, like a port of SF EX1 to PSP, but who knows).

Brandon's note: I know that companies have been submitting design documents to Capcom for their anniversary game, so a new game is possible...let's cross our collective fingers. Then again, it could be a port of Street Fighter: The Movie to PSP. The PSP is what's key, here.

Famitsu reported that Namco Bandai's PS3 launch titles Ridge Racer 7 and Mobile Suit Gundam: Target in Sight will support HD installation, to shorten the disc loading time.

Un site pour Densha de Go! Shinkansen 06

Les Japonais ont une passion démesurée pour la série Densha de Go. Et Taito Corporation le leur rend bien en proposant un nouvel opus cette fois-ci sur Nintendo Wii. Baptisé Densha de Go! Shinkansen '06 Sanyou Shinkansen Hen, le jeu fera la part belle aux trains à grande vitesse qui parcourent l’archipel de long en large. Bien évidemment, la Wiimote permettra de gérer la vitesse de ces TGV nippons dont plusieurs modèles seront à la disposition des conducteurs en herbe. Densha de Go! Shinkansen '06 Sanyou Shinkansen Hen sera disponible au Pays du Soleil Levant en février prochain comme nous l’indique le site officiel du jeu récemment mis en ligne.

Le jeu comprend 10 personnages différents dont les fameux Bub et Bob, tout droit sortis de Bubble Bobble. De nouveaux modes ont été annoncés : un mode puzzle avec plus de 500 tableaux à résoudre, un mode sans-fin, d'un mode multijoueur à 8 et enfin d'un nouveau mode (le Shooting Mode) qui vous demandera d'utiliser la Wiimote et le nunchuk pour détruire les bulles qui arriveront de tous les côtés !

Le jeu est développé par Happy Happenings (en voyant le nom de leur société, on comprend mieux leur état d'esprit) et sortira au début de l'année 2007. Et pour faire patienter les bullophiles, voilà la jaquette (criarde) du jeu !

Microsoft prêt à racheter Capcom?

Après avoir arraché le studio Rare à Nintendo et acquis Lionhead de Peter Molyneux, Microsoft a soif et pourrait bien continuer son marché au Japon. On le sait, la Xbox 360 a besoin d'un partenaire solide pour tenter de s'imposer dans l'archipel. Le magazine EGM fidèle à la colonne rumeur de JeuxVideo.fr nous apprend que Microsoft aurait dans son viseur Capcom. La firme américaine ferait donc le forcing pour racheter Capcom, l'éditeur responsable de Resident Evil, Street Fighter ou encore Devil May Cry. On vous tient au courant.

Virtua Fighter 5 : la publicité nipponne

Bien qu’il ne soit pas au rendez-vous pour le lancement nippon et américain de la PlayStation 3, Virtua Fighter 5 a tout de même droit au même traitement de faveur que les autres jeux du line-up de la console de Sony. La Virtual Console et son catalogue de jeux à télécharger sur Wii se remplissent petit à petit de trésors des années 1980 à 1990. Et aujourd’hui, c’est Sega qui nous apporte quelques nouvelles alléchantes pour les joueurs nostalgiques. En effet, l’éditeur supportera dès le lancement de la Wii le service de téléchargements d’anciens jeux en proposant à partir du 8 décembre plusieurs titres disponibles pour 800 Points Wii, soit environ 5 €. Ce ne sont pas moins de dix softs que Sega proposera et en attendant on les retrouve avec grand plaisir en images ci-dessous : Dr. Robotnik’s Mean Bean Machine, Ristar, Sonic the Hedgehog, ToeJam and Earl, Space Harrier II, Gunstar Heroes, Ecco The Dolphin, Columns, Golden Axe et Altered Beast.

Ignition Entertainment, publisher of SNK Playmore game in PAL regions, also released their plans for next few months.

La Console Virtuelle nous permettra de retrouver les plus grands classiques du jeu vidéo. C'est une fonctionnalité importante pour Nintendo qui tâte ici un nouveau terrain : celui de l'e-commerce. A l'occasion d'une série de Q/A avec ComputerAndVideogames, on a maintenant quelques détails sur le fonctionnement de la Virtual Console...

Tout d'abord, rappelons que la fonction Vibration de la N64 n'est pas supportée dans les émulations Virtual Console. On en avait parlé ici. On est un peu mis devant le fait accompli sur ce coup-là, mais n'oublions pas que sur N64, le rumble pack n'était pas inclus dans la manette, c'était un accessoire à brancher dans la manette elle-même.

Quand on parle de console virtuelle, Nintendo parle vraiment de console virtuelle : c'est un copier-coller du code de l'époque, ce qui veut dire qu'on ne peut pas s'attendre à plus que ce qu'on avait à l'époque. Dans l'interview, on parle d'émulateurs qui permettent de jouer en ligne sur le Net aux jeux multi-joueurs, ce n'est pas disponible avec la Virtual Console.

Comme le code n'a pas changé, les bons vieux bugs, ralentissements et autres joyeuseries de l'époque seront toujours au rendez-vous. On espère vous le confirmer bientôt avec Gradius et autres rameurs du même genre !

Reste que si Nintendo ne change rien, on ne doit pas perdre de vue le fait que la manette Classic de la Wii n'a pas tous les boutons du pad N64 : à ça, Nintendo répond froidement que "la configuration de la manette sera déterminée jeu par jeu et détaillée dans le mode d'emploi électronique".

On sait que le prix des jeux va varier d'une console à l'autre, avec un prix plus élevé pour les jeux les plus récents. Disons de suite que le prix des cartes sera le même en ligne et en magasin, pour ne pas faire de jaloux ! Concernant le prix croissant, il en va de même de la taille des jeux : un jeu NES tient sur 1 Mb, SNES sur 5 et N64 sur 32.

Chaque jeu sera considéré comme un Channel : on pourra bouger les jeux dans la liste de channels comme bon nous semble, mais c'est tout. On ne pourra donc pas se dire qu'on va créer un Channel Zelda dans lequel on mettrait tous ses jeux Zelda Virtual Console. Voilà qui aurait pu être une bonne idée.

Initialement prévue pour le 14 décembre, et donc potentiellement sous le sapin, la version PSP de Metal Slug Anthology se voit repoussée à cet hiver au Japon. Il faudra donc patienter encore un peu pour jouer à cette compilation des sept épisodes de la série, à moins d'opter pour la version Wii prévue avant la fin de l'année.

Some more screens and cards of upcoming SNK vs Capcom: Card Fighters DS are revealed on Famitsu
You play as the original character Taiki to collect 400 cards from 40 different games of SNK Playmore and Capcom. The game allows multiplayer gaming using wireless option. It also fully utilizes the Touch Screen function of DS.

It is set to release on 14 December for 5,040 Yen.

2D Shooter Last Hope auch für Dreamcast

21.11.06 - redspotgames gibt bekannt, dass der von NG:DEV.TEAM entwickelte 2D Shooter Last Hope (Neo Geo) auch für Dreamcast erscheinen wird. Das Spiel erinnert an R-Type und ähnliche klassische 2D-Horizontal-Shooter.

Die Hintergrundgrafik ist handgezeichnet, CGI-Feinde sind komplett animiert. Die Grafik soll mit 60 fps laufen und bis zu vier Parallax-Ebenen auf den Bildschirm bringen. Es gibt Licht-, Transparenz- und Plasma-Effekte.

Last Hope hat sechs Levels mit Rücksetzpunkten und 4 Schwierigkeitsgrade. Release: Dezember 2006 (Japan)

SNK Playmore announced the first information on this year's KOF Year-end Party. Its an exclusive SNK Playmore event organized to attract hardcore fans of King Of Fighters series, and give them a chance to meet developers and voice actors of the game.

This year, SNK Playmore will be showing KOF Maximum Impact: Regulation A, KIng Of Fighters 98 Ultimate Match and King Of Fighters NESTS version to fans exclusively.
