Drum Master Sequel Renamed in Japan PS2

June 6, 2005 - Dragon Ball Z will be making the trip to the arcades with some good backing. According the latest Weekly Shounen Jump, Banpresto has drafted new development studio Craft and Meister to develop Chou Dragon Ball Z, an arcade fighter based off the license.


Craft and Meister is the new studio headed by former Street Fighter producer Noritaka Funamizu. Funamizu has been secretive about the studios plans, only revealing plans for a PSP game and for a game due out some time this year. It appears that Chou Dragon Ball Z would be the latter.
Arcade release plans for the game have yet to be finalized.

bon dans son Blog il cause aussi des déboire qu'ils ont avec Sony pour mettre la main sur le kit de devloppement PS3. car Sony ne veulent pas les fournir car leur boite ne développe "que" des jeux de Tetris... Shocked

'Pac-Man war das erste Spiel, in dem man eine Rolle übernahm: Anstatt ein lebloses Objekt wie einen Panzer oder eine Raketenbasis zu steuern, kontrollierten die Spieler eine lebendige Kreatur', sagt Leonard Herman, Autor von 'Phoenix: The Rise and Fall of Videogames'. 'Es war etwas, mit dem sich die Leute als Held identifizieren konnten.'

Pac-Man entstand in Japan: Toru Iwatani, ein junger Designer bei Namco, ließ sich von einer Pizza inspirieren, der ein Stück fehlte. Puck-Man war geboren - doch sein Name wurde von Phuck in Pac geändert, als er in den USA 1980 sein Debut feierte. Das genaue Datum von Pac-Mans Geburt kennt Namco nicht mehr.

Billy Mitchell war die erste und einzige Person, die ein perfektes Spiel mit Pac-Man schaffte, 3.333.360 Mio. Punkte erspielte und alle 256 Levels meisterte. Dafür benötigte er 1999 sechs Stunden.

Zwischen 1980 und 1987 wurden 293.822 Automaten an Spielhallen verkauft. In diesem Jahr erscheinen zahlreiche weitere Pac-Man-Spiele für Konsolen, darunter Pac-Mania 3D, Pac-Man World 3, Pac-Pix, Pac-Man Pinball, uvm.

Auch der Automat soll als Jubiläumsversion zum 25. Geburtstag neuaufgelegt werden.

Hamapika has listed two new forthcoming titles in the Sega Ages 2500 Series for the PS2. One of them is Space Harrier 2 ~Space Harrier Complete Collection~ which presumably (and this is just our speculation), would include the Mega Drive game and the original Space Harrier in the form of a direct arcade port (unlike Volume 4's 3D remake). The other is more interesting, though, since it has the name 'SDI & Quartet ~Sega System 16 Collection Vol. 1~, which could mean that 3D Ages has plans to release a whole subseries based on the System 16 (1986~1991) arcade games, this time as direct ports instead of remakes with 3D graphics. Both titles have even a release date: September, 29th. Regarding this 2005 retro arcade fever, Hamster has recently opened its website for the Oretachi Geesen Zoku, a collection of one-shot arcade conversions for the PS2 with games like Nichibutsu's Crazy Climber or Video System's Sonic Wings. It is rumored that Konami's Xexex might appear under this label in August. NOTE: Seems that Hamapika took the information from some shops: 1 and 2.

SNK Playmore now has a dedicated webpage for their recently released The King of Fighters Volleyball on Vodafone cellphones. The game, which costs 210 yen to download, follows the rules of 2-player beach volleyball with the subtle addition of trademark special moves. KOF Volleyball features a bunch of famous backgrounds from the main series and (as of now) six characters to select from: Iori, Kyo, Terry, Athena, Mai and Yuri (although Rugal can clearly be spotted in one of the tiny screenshots).
