Card Fighters Clash 1 and 2 are pretty widely regarded as one of the Neo Geo Pocket's best 'killer apps', on top of being among the best card battle games in general. Even though the question was answered with a 'no' when we asked SNK at GDC, there are new rumors that a new card game is in the works from SNK, based on an interview in the hong kong-based 'game next' magazine. Square Enix will Taito übernehmen

22.08.05 - Square Enix (Dragon Quest- & Final Fantasy-Serie) gibt bekannt, dass man sich zu 67 Prozent an Taito beteiligen will. Durch die Übernahme will Japans größter Rollenspielhersteller seine Produktpalette erweitern und konkurenzfähiger werden.

Fernab der RPGs würde Square Enix so auch in direktem Wettbewerb mit Sega Sammy Holdings und Nintendo stehen.

Space Invaders-Erfinder Taito konzentriert sich in Japan seit den frühen 70er-Jahren auf das Arcade-Geschäft (Battle Gear 4, Psyvariar 2, Bust-A-Move), veröffentlicht aber auch zahllose Konsolenspiele (Ys-Serie, Langrisser III, Puzzle Bobble, Elevator Action).

Die Kyocera Corp. hat sich bereits dafür ausgesprochen, ihren Taito-Aktienanteil von 36,02 Prozent an den RPG-Hersteller zu verkaufen. Square Enix will für die Übernahme umgerechnet insgesamt Euro 501,1 Mio. an seinen Konkurrenten Taito zahlen.

Namco a annoncé que le jeu Urban Reign était passé gold. Urban Reign, c'est ce beat'em all urbain sur PS2 où l'on pourra entres autres croiser Paul Phoenix et Marshall Law de Tekken, venus faire une apparition pour les modes libre ou en multi. La sortie du jeu est prévue pour septembre aux Etats-Unis et au Japon.
