I've been reading up on this week's Game Next (local HK weekly game magazine who gives slightly more bias towards SNKP, also one of the first to know about Card Fighters DS). It's basically an article introducing SNKP. There's an interview in the end, which I don't have the time to translate for now (perhaps tomorrow) but here's the release dates for the following games according to the magazine. I'm just posting them all together, and don't laugh at me if it's already posted in another thread. =P
KOF: MI2 (PS2) - April 27
KOF XI (PS2) - June 22
Metal Slug 3D (PS2) - June 29
AOF Collection (PS2) - May 29
KOF Orochi Saga (PS2) - April 20
KOF NESTS Saga (PS2) - Unknown, supports online play however
SNK Vs Capcom Card Fighters DS (NDS) - Summer 2006
Short stuff from interview (don't blame me if it's stuff you already know):
- KOF: MI1 is the best seller in HK, followed by Metal Slug 4, then KOF 2003.
- KOF: MI2 is more balanced? Also features a judgement system of sorts, along with super cancelling.
- Might do an OVA or movie if given the chance (ed. I'm thinking that this is BS)
- Atomiswave sales has paused?
- Any Metal Slug will NOT appear as an NDS game
- KOF XI (PS2) will have new characters (known), rearranged BGM (known) and new game modes, and support for MMBB
- KOF: MI2 might be ported to arcades
- After KOF: MI2, KOF XII is the next in line, and it will be announced by TGS
- KOF XII will sharply change the image of KOF to everyone
- Board is unknown yet (ed. not even started developing?)
- Might give PC online games a try soon
- Card Fighters DS will utilize the power of the touch screen, with simple controls
Discussion then turns into talk about the next-gen consoles. It'll be covered in the fully translated version of the interview.
