Some users told me about a printint test if I think I would get a better results of actual. I like challenges and I knew how to do it!
With "Out Run Steering Wheel Emblem" artwork from SEGA restored some weeks ago, let´s go to start.
My point is to get the best aproximation possible for you with a few money .
- What I need?
1) A perfect restoration or original designing, it is 50% of our succesful!

2) An ideal print support. In this case the best option was a piece of "Pearled Silver Vinyl (3M)". It is 20 % of a good printed work!
Pearled Silver Vinyl (3M). Photos by Mikonos
Because I want to order a cheap test, I had the idea of a transparent paper.
3) A colour match test (one or more) for to compare with original piece. It is 10% for to get a perfect work!
In this example, we can not see a conventional colour match test, but it works almost in same way.
"Out Run Steering Wheel Emblem Sticker Samples" (SEGA). By Zona Arcade & Mikonos.
First Sample: This was my first aproximation to original printed designing through photos. To have original emblem, it would have been optimal.
Second Sample: Transparent colours at 80% but black.
Third Sample: 25% Brighness reduced.
*From left to right.
4) Good print machine: No banding, no grain, no error, perfect accuracy, good inks, etc. It is anoher 20% for a perfect work!
- How much and why was so cheap?
The most expensive thing was "Pearled Silver Vinyl (3M). It cost about 30€ per metre, but I have a sample from a old customized work I did for a friend and his bike.

- What is your analysis?
I was very sure about first sample and it was the winner in my opinion.
This aproximation is the best I saw to original. I think it honestly!
The most important for us: it can be cheap, even with a glossy protective lamination and a precut by machine.
I think it can become an easy spare for to stick over your original. In that way, you will conserve your original.
- From this point to...
You can use my information, techniques, experience, knowlege about print materials, etc like you want. You are free to use all these for your own benefit or for to do business, it is all the same to me.
If you want to do me a request about this piece for to check this result from me; Ok!No problem! You are welcome, but use my p.m or mail. Don´t use this thread, please!
